True Crime (1999)
True Crime is a 1999 American mystery drama film directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, who also starred in the lead role. The film is loosely based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Andrew Klavan. Eastwood plays Steve Everett, a journalist covering the execution of a death row inmate, only to discover that the convict may actually be innocent. The film was released in the United States on March 19, 1999.
