The Phone Call (1977)
The Phone Call is a 24-minute film produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It tells the story of a young man, Scott, who works at a burger joint to earn money for karate lessons. He finds it difficult to talk to the girl he likes while at the same time easily becomes friends with a female coworker, Becky. The story was based on an article by Jack Weyland published in the New Era in February 1976. The film is available through the Brigham Young University [http://creativeworks.byu.edu/catalog/ViewItem.aspx?item=TM027 Office of Creative Works] on a compilation DVD with other LDS films. In 2012 it was made available on YouTube by the copyright holders (see external links below).
