The Band (1978)

The Band (also known as "The Troupe") is an Israeli film first shown in April 1978. Nearly 504,000 viewers visited theaters to watch the movie. It reached number 37 on the list of 50 United States blockbusters. The film, directed by Avi Nesher, follows composer, arranger, and music director of the Nahal troupe, Yair Rosenblum. Rosenblum sings songs composed by the band and also appears in the film. The film score is composed of songs accompanied by military bands of the era and was attended by singers and bands from young players who have become famous artists.
