Savitri (1933)
Sati Savitri (Telugu) is a 1933 Telugu film directed by C. Pullaiah. It was based on a popular stage play of Mylavaram Bala Bharati Samajam. It was the first film produced by East India Film Company with a huge budget of Rs. 75,000 in Calcutta and was a huge commercial hit. The film received an honorary diploma at Venice Film Festival.
