Malin Kundang (1971)
Malin Kundang (Anak Durhaka) (literally Malin Kundang [Faithless Child]) is a 1971 film directed by D. Djajakusuma and adapted by Asrul Sani from the folktale of the same name. It follows a young boy who forgets his roots after spending much of his childhood at sea. Starring Rano Karno, Putu Wijaya, and Fifi Young, the film was a commercial failure.
