Earth and Ashes (2004)
Earth and Ashes (Dari: Khakestar-o-khak) is a 2004 Afghan film directed by Atiq Rahimi. It was Afghanistan's submission to the 77th Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee. It was also screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. It won the Golden Dhow award at the 2005 Zanzibar International Film Festival.
