Blazing the Overland Trail (1956)
Blazing the Overland Trail (1956) is a Columbia Pictures serial, directed by veteran serial specialist Spencer Gordon Bennet and produced by another serial specialist, Sam Katzman. It was the last serial produced by Columbia and the last serial ever produced by any major studio. Republic Pictures, the only other serial-producing studio in the mid-'50s, had ceased its serial production the previous year with King of the Carnival.
